About
The Ukrainian Institute of America is a nonprofit cultural organization in New York City dedicated to promoting the art, music, literature, and cultural heritage of Ukraine and the Ukrainian diaspora. The Institute serves as a center for the Ukrainian-American community and as a public “Window on Ukraine,” offering programs that connect audiences with Ukrainian culture, history, creativity, and civic identity.
The Institute hosts art exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, poetry readings, literary evenings, lectures, symposia, children’s programs, educational initiatives, and public events. It is permanently housed in the historic Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion at 2 East 79th Street and Fifth Avenue, a designated National Historic Landmark and part of the New York Metropolitan Museum Historic District.
For visitors, artists, students, community members, and supporters of Ukrainian culture, the Ukrainian Institute of America serves as an important cultural space for education, artistic presentation, community engagement, and the preservation of Ukrainian heritage in the United States.
