The Cook County Treasurer’s Office is the official county office responsible for collecting, processing, and managing property tax payments for Cook County, Illinois. The office provides public access to property tax bills, payment options, payment status checks, refunds, exemptions, tax history, and information about prior-year taxes.
Through the official Treasurer’s website, residents and property owners can pay property taxes online, get a copy of a tax bill, check payment status, search for overpayment refunds, review exemption history, sign up for electronic tax billing, and access resources for seniors, veterans, homeowners, and people with disabilities. The site also provides educational materials explaining how the Illinois property tax system works.
