Women’s Identity Dinner: A Night of Purpose

On April 16, Chicago hosted Women’s Identity Dinner with Olia Freimut – an elegant and meaningful evening that brought together women from the Ukrainian community for a conversation about identity, confidence, self-worth, leadership, and the role of women in today’s world.

The event combined a refined dinner atmosphere with live talks, a panel discussion, and an open Q&A session. The evening gathered entrepreneurs, professionals, creators, community leaders, and active representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora who are shaping a new standard of connection, collaboration, and cultural presence in the United States.

The headliner of the evening was Olia Freimut, a renowned Ukrainian television host, journalist, author, and one of Ukraine’s most recognizable media figures. Known for her long-standing association with culture, etiquette, and public communication, Freimut addressed the audience with a talk focused on inner strength, personal choice, dignity, and the ability to remain authentic in a constantly changing world. Olia Freimut said:

For me, this evening in Chicago became much more than just a public appearance. I had heard a lot about the Ukrainian diaspora, but what I experienced here exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was warm, unifying, and deeply sincere. Our dialogue with the guests was alive and emotional - we laughed, reflected, remembered, and shared personal stories.
What made this evening especially meaningful was that it had not only emotional value, but also a charitable purpose. Together, we were able to support children in Ukraine, which once again proves that wherever we are, we remain united.

The evening also featured invited speakers from different professional fields, including mortgage lending, real estate, beauty, and entrepreneurship. Natalia Acevedo, Anna-Maria Skakodub, Sofia Moroz, and Nicole Plaskonis shared their experiences, personal stories, and professional perspectives, adding practical depth to the broader conversation about women’s identity and growth.

Organized Through Collaboration

The event was realized through the joint work of Ukrainian Roots Community, URC Radio, ÉSTE Management, and PWR Media, with technical and digital support from BFG iTech, as well as the support of sponsors, partners, contributors, and guests.
These organizations share a common understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the Ukrainian community in the United States. Their approach is based on collaboration, modern communication, professional execution, and the belief that strong community projects are built through shared effort rather than isolated initiatives.
Women’s Identity Dinner became a clear example of how coordinated collaboration can create not only a beautiful event, but a meaningful platform for dialogue, visibility, and real impact.

Charity as Part of the Mission

One of the most meaningful elements of the evening was its charitable component. As part of the event, guests supported a fundraising initiative aimed at helping children in Ukraine, including support for initiatives connected to the children’s hospice Dim Metelykiv.
For the organizers, this charitable direction was not an addition to the program, but an essential part of the event’s purpose. Alex Balbus and Sviatoslav Lukynych of URC Life said,

For us, it was important that this event would create value not only for the Ukrainian diaspora in the U.S., but also bring real impact for Ukraine. From the very beginning, we included charity as one of the key directions of the project. This evening showed that community events can do more than bring people together - they can also become a real instrument of support.

Realizing the URC Mission

For Ukrainian Roots Community, Women’s Identity Dinner became a practical expression of its broader mission: to build a modern, connected, and active Ukrainian community ecosystem in the United States.
The event reflected several key areas of URC’s work:

  • Unity - through partnerships, collaborations, and stronger horizontal connections within the community.
  • Education - through meaningful topics, public dialogue, and the exchange of values and experience.
  • Modernization - through high-quality event execution, contemporary formats, and a new culture of community interaction.
  • Digital Transformation - through media presence, technical infrastructure, visual quality, analytics, and scalable promotion.
The result is a model in which quality creates visibility, visibility builds interest, interest opens the door to collaboration, and collaboration creates real impact.

People as the Core Value

A special thank you goes to every guest who attended the event. Because the true strength of the community is not only in organizations, platforms, or initiatives - it is in the people who choose to be present, engaged, and open to connection.
Your presence reflected interest, readiness for change, a desire for communication, openness to innovation, and a willingness to be part of something larger than a single event.

  • You motivate.
  • You energize.
  • You help shape the future of new community projects.

Looking Ahead

Women’s Identity Dinner in Chicago showed what becomes possible when community, culture, business, media, and philanthropy come together around a shared purpose.
The event set a new standard for Ukrainian community gatherings in the U.S. - one where aesthetics are supported by meaning, dialogue leads to connection, and collective presence becomes a path toward real impact.
For Ukrainian Roots Community and its partners, this evening is not the end of a project, but another step toward building a stronger, more connected, and more visible Ukrainian community in the United States.

One Mission. One Ecosystem. One United Community.
